reaching many souls for the Kingdom of God.
Sister Zenebech Mekunia gave us a house for a place
of worship at Jolle. We had fellowship there with visiting saints from other churches on Sunday, July 30, 1989 when members of the Orthodox church surrounded us with rods and spears in their hands. They began beating on the windows of our prayer house, hoping to beat us, but God did not allow them. They requested that we accompany them to the local Administration's office and we agreed. When we arrived they had no cell big enough to hold all ninety of us, so they left us outside under guards.
While they are giving false reports to the provincial
police, the Party Administration, and the Peasant's Association we continued our fellowship for three days
without food or shelter. We sang and prayed and had a fiill
program of great blessings before a committee from every office arrived to question us.
"Why have you gathered such a crowd?"
"We are gathered to pray and worship and teach
them the Word of God."
Then they saw Brother Essatu Male with us, who is
a member of the Provincial Peasant Association's court.
They knew him well and asked in amazement, "Why do you assemble with these Pentes?"
He answered, "My wife suffered horribly with demon possession for fifteen years, and no one could help her. My oldest son suffered the same affliction from birth and everyone of my family languished in one sickness or another. I am bankrupt because of my family's many problems. Then a man stabbed me in the stomach so deeply my intestines fell on the ground. A sympathetic bystander
