Then Came the Glory
In the meantime, the school attended by Abraham and Jerusalem sank to such depths of inunorality they suffered constant danger. Boys armed with knives demanded
money and submission from them and threatened their lives. When Abraham got seriously hurt defending Jerusalem, we
knew something had to be done. We contacted Brothers
Haney and Rash in Stockton, California, USA asking that they keep our children in school there until the scene changed in Ethiopia. We felt pleased for good progress in their education. Later, they went to stay at Tupelo,
Mississippi in the Children's mansion under the kind direction of Brother Steve Drury and his wife.
Since Erkenesh's longing for her children made her sick, we decided to bring all three of them home. Though we rejoiced to have our children with us again, we faced a serious problem with their schooling. Many school officials wanted big bribes and if they sat for entry examinations, they would not allow them to pass. Erkenesh then cried, "Why did I bring them back?" The distress caused her to suffer a
stroke and the right side of her body became paralyzed. She
lay seriously ill for seven days before the power of prayer raised her up.
Later, we went to a lowland place and Erkenesh wore boots, when she removed the right boot, her leg
became contorted with a hard cramp from her waist down. After three days of suffering, prayer in the name of Jesus
prevailed.
When we went for a funeral in Wonji Shoa, a place
noted for extremely hot climate, she took a shower and the doctor later said the blood drained from her head, and,
again, her right side paralyzed. He said she could not live, but since life and deaA are in God's hand she astonished the
