Then Came the Glory
screamed and came out of the possessed. The ones touched
by God went home and witnessed from village to village. The Gospel reached many provinces in a short time.
When news of this happening went out, many
heathen came to repentance. In Murri Mulato, all the
members of fifteen Evangelical churches came to repentance
and we baptized them in the Malawe River in 1992. The
Gospel extended to the Adolla and Borre districts where
many heathen and nominal church members found salvation. The administrators of both districts became angry and began
persecutions in earnest.
In Borre, the district secretary Ato Alemseged Berhe
made severe difficulties for the Gospel work until we prayed
earnestly for deliverance. Then officials found he had embezzled government money and arrested him. He hanged
himself with his belt in prison, and the church had rest. When the Administrator of Adolla returned from
burning ten of our churches he found one of his sons dead; shortly afterward a second son died. He realized God's hand had touched him heavily and declared, "I will never touch these people again." Thus we received liberty to assemble
freely and expand the Gospel throughout the region.
A group of people later met in Adolla to devise a
method to eliminate the Apostolic churches, and a terrible thunder storm struck the house and killed all of them.
The chief register, our worst opponent in Borre
town, had a seriously ill daughter. Spending all his money he took her to different hospitals, to wizards, and holy water fountains; but the girl grew worse. Finally, as the last hope, with humble apologies and a contrite heart, he came to the
people he had tried to kill. After prayer his daughter received instant healing, and though lame before, she jumped
