Countless hours of
Waiting……
Flight delayed for countless hours…. I look down at the brown
watch that had been given to me on my birthday by my
mother. It was already 1 pm and I was supposed to be on the
plane ready to fly to Indonesia. But instead, I was stuck at
Nepal’s airport waiting lounge till god knows when. “Ugh,” I
screamed to myself, frustrated. My bottom was starting to
hurt because of the couch that was as hard
as iron. I looked around the lounge area.
Dozens of people scrambled
here and there, rushing to
board their flights.
The vents and air
conditioning seemed to have stopped working as I was
dripping with hot, sticky sweat. The people who rushed
around left a disgusting, stuffy, stinky smell behind. The type
to make anyone gag. It felt like the air was suffocating me,
not letting me breathe at all. As I sat on the white couch that
had been so worn out, I looked around the room. The walls
seemed to be caving in, paint chipping off of them and
random paintings hung up to cover the messy holes.
“How beautiful,” I wondered. The tiles were slippery and
soapy with mud and footprints were carved throughout the
pathway. The duty-free shops seemed to be busy selling their
overpriced goods. As much as I hate airport shopping sprees,
I was hungry. I went into one of the shops and picked up the
