The mummy : aabhash Thapa The day was so relaxing! After overworking myself
for months, despite my hesitant thoughts to treat myself for once, I must admit
that staycations are surprisingly enjoyable. Checking in at the hotel at 8:45 in the
morning, I took the day to indulge in massages and relaxing spas. Not a single
event could disrupt my enjoyment of the day. Despite my relative's wedding
having been postponed, I needed to find a way to return to my office knowing
their holiday policy. I still will be having a 24-hour leave from my boring 9-5 and
this was the best way I could have utilised these hours.
Reminiscing about the relaxing day, I made what would be my final impulsive
decision for the day, swimming at 9 pm. The swimming pool was empty, with not
a single soul to drive me to awkwardness. The water was too cold and sustained in
the water for a brief time, so I headed back to my room. After a 3rd relaxing bath
for the day, I was ready to hit the sack. as I was drifting to sleep, a sudden knock
on the door prompted me to consciousness. hazily I crawled out of the fluffy
comfortable mattress and went to address the door.
A child in a mummy costume? What a confusing scene for my foggy brain to
process in the middle of the night. "Mother, I'M A MUMMY!" the child yelled.
Only after a few moments did the child realise that the luscious black-haired
mommy he was standing in front of was a man wearing a robe. With a tired face
with a much closer resemblance to a mummy, I politely asked him why he was
there. The child stood there for a moment, leaving enough time for his father to
come by and explain the atrocious yet adorable prank meant to be played on his
wife.
Wishing a few words for the family's well-being, I went back to sleep knowing that
I would never forget this moment I shared with this random family. I wished this
staycation would last forever but a military veteran boss makes work very difficult
to work with, I only could hope for tomorrow's prosperity.
