Grade 8 Ceiling
Tiles

WHEN YOU WALK through the
upstairs halls of the CCS West
Fifth campus, you can’t help
but notice the brightly painted
ceiling tiles above you. Since
2001, small groups of students
from every grade eight class
have been selected to design
and paint a ceiling tile to repre-
sent their class to the commu-
nity for years to come. The first
two tiles painted were done by
the last grade eight classes in
the original CCS building.

Last spring, because of the
COVID-19 shutdowns, arrang-
ing a time for students to work
together on the ceiling tiles be-
came an impossible task. After
some brainstorming and much
coordination, six students from
the graduating class of 2020
were able to pick up smaller
tiles in September and paint
them at their homes. When they
were completed, they returned
them to the school, where they
will now be on display for many
years to come.

Eden, Kate, Hayley, and David
for all of your hard work on your
ceiling tiles!
