Pharmacy First: Supporting
patients with infected insect bites
The much-anticipated National Pharmacy First Advanced
Service for England has so far been a resounding success,
with pharmacies across the country delivering consultations
highlighting a remarkable stride towards enhanced patient
care and well-being.
Pharmacy First has given pharmacies the initiative to deliver frontline
healthcare services, elevating their status beyond mere dispensers of
medication to trusted healthcare advisors, and likewise giving their
communities the opportunity to access services by eliminating the
need to secure GP appointments.
How are we
doing so far?
According to data from the CCA, since
service launch up until to 24th March:
• 80,017 consultations conducted, of
which 88% met gateway and were
eligible for payment.
• Of the recorded consultations,
81% were walk-in.
