              Governance Toolkit?

Community Pharmacy Wales, the Welsh Government and the
contracting Health Boards have given community pharmacies
until 30th June 2024 to complete the new Welsh Information
Governance Toolkit (WIGTK). The new toolkit includes elements
which will support Welsh pharmacies in preparing for the rollout
              of electronic prescriptions.

What do I need to know?

The IG Toolkit is a mandatory self-assessment tool that allows
organisations to assess their compliance with national Information
Governance standards and legislation. Its goal is to determine
whether information within the organisation is handled and protected
              appropriately.
The assessment helps identify areas for improvement and informs the
organisation's Information Governance Action Plan. Additionally, it offers
reassurance to staff, patients, and other healthcare organisations that
              their information is processed securely.
