Ive worked for PSUK for eight years, starting my
career on the Non-Dispensing telesales team,
before moving on to the Dispensing Telesales
team and then progressing to being out on the
road in the South West before moving back home
to the North.
Many of you may be aware of the website
OpenPrescribing (openprescribing.net), but
for those that don’t, OpenPrescribing is
an external resource that pulls together
anonymised prescribing data, in their
words, to “make it easier for GPs,
managers and everyone to explore
- supporting safer, more efficient
prescribing.”

For a dispensing practice, one of the
tools I would look at is the report
on price savings on individual
presentations. This report will, I
guess, look very similar to the
items the PCN pharmacists used
to look at where more cost-
effective items can be used. The
table below, which can be found
by finding your own practice
via the Practice Dashboard,
shows the largest cost saving
potential for this practice to be
Sulfasalazine GR Tablets.
