Drug Tariff: Broken Bulk
What is Broken Bulk?
Broken bulk is an endorsement that allows pharmacies to claim for a
complete pack when a part-pack is prescribed for products that are unlikely
to be dispensed again in the following six month period.
Broken Bulk may be claimed if necessary, unless the unlicensed medicine is
classed as a special container. To claim for Broken Bulk, contractors should
refer to Drug Tariff Clause Part II Clause 9
