This allowed contractors to claim for lost fees associated with a reduction in
              prescribing volume attributed to changes in GP prescribing, specifically related to
              increases to the period of treatment.

              The reduction in prescription volume needed to be greater than 7% when
              compared to the average prescription volume in the period April 2021 to March
              2022.
              The prescription volume in the relevant month needed to be lower than the
              prescription volume in the same month of the reference period.
              The value of the claim is calculated as the difference between the actual payment
              in the relevant month and the average monthly payment made to the pharmacy in
              the reference period less 7%. The calculation was based on professional fees alone.

              The payment was paid through NECAF.
              The original compensation mechanism came to an close at the end of CPCF
              2022/23.
              What happened this year?

              CPW negotiated to extend the compensation mechanism and announced this in
              late August.

              In the time between the end of March 2023 and September, Numark members
              were out of pocket by thousands of pounds.

              Members could retrospectively claim through the scheme between April and
              August but were required to submit the claim by the 30th of September.

              Members could subsequently submit a claim each month.
              1.59% increase to the items reported in the reference period was added to reflect
              the growth in item volume in 2022/23.

              What is Numark doing to help?
              At Numark we are passionate about finding ways to support our members. We
              have reviewed member item volumes for the reference period (factored in the
              1.59%YOY growth rates) and compared it to their latest published item volume.
              This has allowed us to identify those members that might be eligible to claim
              through the compensation scheme and our team of PDMs and member support
              team will be reaching out to members each month to ensure they are aware of the
              process to claim and the value of claims they could expect should they be eligible.

              We will be running this monthly to support all of our members in Wales.
