Holy God, you see all our needs
and know the desires of our hearts.
In our journeys,
whether at jet speed or walking pace,
may we know you beside us
and follow your direction.

The contradictions of our lives

Lord God, we pray about the contradictions in our lives:

Aircraft and automobiles produce pollution. You have made us trustees of planet
Earth, and look to us to preserve clean air. Should we pray and act against these
polluting agents?

But you have also set us in families, and given us friends across the world. Loving
relationships are better nourished when people meet. So, we give thanks for the
means of putting us in touch with each other, and pray that we may find ways to
reduce pollution.

The gift of travel

Freedom to see families,
hold them close, see their homes;
freedom to visit friends,
laughing, talking in their company;
freedom to stare at mountain peaks,
see the sea, the waterfall, the forest;
thank you, Lord.
