FOR WANTON WASTE,
FORGIVE US OUR FAILING.

FOR NOT THINKING THROUGH CONSEQUENCES,
FOR NOT CARING FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS,
FOR BLIND INDIFFERENCE,
FORGIVE US OUR FAILING.

Silence

Leader: The forgiveness of the Maker, who knows you, be yours;
the forgiveness of the Son, who knows life’s struggles, be yours;
the forgiveness of the Spirit, who encourages, be yours;
the love of God, who enables life-giving change,
be yours today and always.

ALL: CREATOR GOD,
REDEEMER SON,
GUIDING SPIRIT,
HELP US TO LIVE RESPONSIBLY
IN YOUR WORLD. AMEN

A travelling prayer

Praise you,
journeying God;
God of movement,
God of change.

Thank you for the example of Jesus,
who travelled lightly,
taking note of creation along the way.

Our expectations now are for holidays in outer space.
Travel – a right not to be interfered with.
Our eyes are blind to the impact of our travelling on others
and on the life of the planet.
