60 Eggs and Ashes
A: There is so much there I fear the temptation to buy too much, to be greedy and
only feasting.
B: Thank you for the growth of the Fairtrade movement and for organic food:
practical justice for people and land.
A: Thank you for all the work behind the scenes: food from farms to shelves.
B: Help us to honour your creation in the way we shop, and to remember to take
a reusable shopping bag.

Creation psalm
A: O God, I praise you for the joy creation brings to my heart: and the fascination
you have given me to seek to understand and use new, gentler technologies.
B: I’m worried that everything I do seems to spoil the beauty of nature; that for
every gain I make from technology there seems to be resultant damage to your
precious creation.
A: I’m afraid that the economic drives of individuals and corporations will be
stronger than the voices of those who want to follow a sustainable lifestyle, and
that the consequences will be an irreversible environmental disaster.
B: Thank you for the freedom you give me to choose how I live: thank you for the
model of living Jesus gives us.
A: Thank you for all people who care and campaign about environmental issues;
thank you for scientists, business people and politicians who work to make
sustainability more possible.
B: Help me to delight in letting creation be itself, to delight in the extra effort it
takes to live sustainably, and to have a greater sense of your presence with me
when I choose the gentler path.
