A Global Student's Journey to Wellness Through Yoga
When Rohan Kulshrestha, a bright young master’s student at Vrije University in Amsterdam, looked back on the past year of his life, one thing stood out as the anchor of his physical and mental well-being: his dedicated Yoga practice under the guidance of Adhiyogi.
In a single year, Rohan had traversed three continents—Asia, Europe, and North America— embracing new cultures, academic pursuits, and travel experiences. And yet, remarkably, he hadn't fallen ill even once—not even with a common cold. For a student constantly adapting to new environments, changing climates, and academic stress, this was no small feat. Rohan attributed this rare immunity to the consistent practice of Yoga and the deeply transformative guidance he received from his teacher, Adhiyogi.
It was during the months of May and June 2012, while back in India, that Rohan decided to seek out personal coaching with Adhiyogi. From their first meeting, it was clear this would not be a generic or routine training. Adhiyogi approached Yoga not merely as a set of physical exercises, but as a fully integrated system tailored to each student’s goals, personality, and life path. He spent time understanding Rohan’s aspirations—not just for physical fitness, but for clarity of mind and balance in life.
Rohan was deeply inspired by Adhiyogi's ability to blend ancient yogic wisdom with practical life experience. In their one-on-one sessions, Adhiyogi helped Rohan craft a personalized practice, combining asanas, breathwork, and meditative tools. This plan was not only achievable, but also sustainable, something Rohan could carry with him through the cities and cultures of his global journey.
The results were undeniable. As Rohan explored his academic ambitions and soaked in the vitality of diverse lands, Yoga remained his daily anchor. He stayed physically strong, mentally focused, and spiritually grounded. In moments of challenge or stress, he returned to the breath, the poses, the inner stillness that Adhiyogi had helped him cultivate.
Now, as Rohan looks forward to returning to India, he has his sights set on the next step: enrolling in the Authentic Yoga Teacher Training program with Adhiyogi. For him, it’s not just about deepening his own practice, but about learning how to share this life-changing system with others.
“I truly believe Yoga is not just a health tool, it’s a life philosophy,” Rohan says. “And learning it from Adhiyogi has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my journey.”
OM Shantiḥ.
