Sanjay Mansukhani’s Journey into the Depths of Yogic Wisdom
In India, it is often said, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” For Sanjay Mansukhani of Kolkata, these words manifested with absolute truth.
On the International Day of Yoga, Sanjay had shared a Facebook post about Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Out of the blue, he received a detailed response from Adhiyogi, pointing out certain corrections in his understanding. Initially, Sanjay debated his points, but as their conversation unfolded, he began to realize the depth of knowledge and the authenticity behind Adhiyogi’s interpretations. A keen student of the Yoga Sutras himself and a teacher for beginners, Sanjay found himself impressed and drawn in by the clarity and precision of Adhiyogi’s insights.
Thus began an intense two-year period of one-to-one learning, during which Sanjay immersed himself in the Patanjali Code, the Yoga Sutras, and the Samkhya Karikas. These ancient philosophies—so rare to find taught authentically in modern times—became living truths for him. While both systems transformed his life, he developed a special fondness for Samkhya, appreciating its logical and structured nature, much like a modern PhD thesis.
Under Adhiyogi’s guidance, Sanjay’s understanding of fundamental concepts—Manas, Ahankara, Buddhi, Mool Prakriti, Purusha, and the other tattvas—reached a profound depth. It was clear that Adhiyogi’s teachings were not just academic knowledge but born from direct personal experience and complete immersion in the subject.
The transformation Sanjay experienced was at the very core of his being, on the level of the three gunas. He even developed his own meditation technique to swiftly clear stress, silence the mind, and access inner peace—a method he now shares with others.
Filled with gratitude, Sanjay prays that Adhiyogi continues to spread the ancient, authentic knowledge of the Rishis and Munis to sincere seekers worldwide. Looking ahead, he is eager to deepen his studies further, with the Hatha Pradipika as his next milestone.
His message to other seekers is simple: “Take one-to-one learning from Adhiyogi over a sustained period. The vastness and profundity of his knowledge will create a paradigm shift in your thinking, living, and being. It certainly has in mine.”
OM Shantiḥ.
