Ariane Allo – A Journey into Authentic Yoga
From her very first day in Adhiyogi’s Yoga Teacher Training, Ariane Allo from France knew she was in for something different. This was not a one-size-fits-all program. Adhiyogi’s method was deeply personal — he took the time to get to know each student individually, understanding their capacities, their goals, and even their unique challenges. Day by day, he gave her carefully tailored assignments, a rhythm of learning that made the process both efficient and deeply rewarding.
One of the aspects Ariane appreciated most was how Adhiyogi guided students to build their own practice, shaped to their personal aims. It wasn’t about fitting into a rigid mold, but about cultivating a yoga journey that felt authentic and sustainable. Along the way, he provided countless tips for improving self-practice — not only during the training but for the years beyond.
His method of teaching asanas stood out for its clarity and depth. Before offering his own extensive knowledge, Adhiyogi would first have the student observe and study the pose independently. This self-discovery phase sharpened Ariane’s awareness and made his later explanations even more impactful. When props were needed, he demonstrated their use skillfully, ensuring that any student, regardless of ability, could approach the posture with safety and precision. He also encouraged creative use of space and objects — transforming any environment, be it a studio, a living room, or even an open park, into a place for yoga.
Perhaps most importantly, Adhiyogi asked Ariane to reflect on her own definition of yoga and the purpose behind her teaching. For him, a clear goal wasn’t optional — it was the anchor for every class, every pose, every word a teacher offered.
The training moved quickly from learning to teaching. In just a short time, Ariane found herself in front of others, putting her new skills into practice. This early experience gave her invaluable insight into the concrete points to remember while teaching, building her confidence from the ground up. Alongside the physical practice, she received a strong foundation in the philosophical roots of yoga, as well as the theory and practice of both classical and applied meditation.
For those inclined, there were also rich lessons in chanting — an area close to Adhiyogi’s heart. His deep passion for music infused the training, and Ariane often found herself inspired simply by hearing him chant at unexpected moments during the day. That inspiration stayed with her, a reminder that yoga could be expressed not only through movement and breath but also through the beauty of sound.
After completing her initial training, Ariane decided to continue her journey with Adhiyogi and enrolled in a second training in Italy. This time, her confidence, clarity, and skill shone even brighter than before. She embraced every challenge, integrated the teachings deeply, and elevated her practice to a new level. By the end of the course, Adhiyogi proudly declared her an “Exemplary Student” — a recognition of her dedication, growth, and mastery of the principles of Authentic Yoga.
