Through their stories, Adhiyogi’s classes resonated across levels of experience, personal goals, and health conditions. Whether through deep philosophy, personalized attention, or therapeutic impact, students like Eileen, Alaka, and Hakan found something uniquely valuable in his teaching—an Authentic Yoga that spoke to the whole person.
Todd and John’s Journey into Authentic Yoga at George Mason University
At George Mason University during the Fall semester of 2005, two dedicated students—Todd Williams and John Kerry—found themselves deeply engaged in the transformative teachings of Adhiyogi. While both came from busy academic and professional lives, their experiences in the Yoga class proved to be both grounding and inspiring.
Todd, navigating through the relentless pressure of academic deadlines, found solace in Neel’s classes. Even when he couldn’t attend, he remained deeply connected to the impact of the sessions. What stood out to him was the unhurried pace of the instruction—how each pose was explored in depth, without the pressure of rushing through postures. For Todd, this was not just a physical class, but a conscious experience where the body was allowed to speak, revealing where healing or focus was needed. He admired Adhiyogi’s wealth of authentic yogic knowledge, especially around the subtleties of breathwork and technique. This wasn't just exercise—it was learning the truth of Yoga. Inspired by the sessions, Todd expressed his desire for private instruction to continue the journey at a deeper, more personalized level.
John Kerry, also a returning student that semester, echoed similar appreciation. Despite occasional conflicts with his schedule, he always looked forward to Neel’s classes. The inclusion of Sanskrit chanting, discussions on healthy living, and philosophical dialogues made each session intellectually nourishing. He felt these discussions brought Yoga to life beyond the mat and provided insights he could carry into daily living. Wishing to continue his practice, John inquired about further opportunities for evening or weekend classes, not wanting to let go of this enriching learning path.
Together, Todd and John’s testimonies reflect how Adhiyogi’s Authentic Yoga was more than just a class at a university—it was a door to ancient wisdom, offered in a personal and powerful way, adapted to modern lives while preserving the original spirit.
Yoga at George Mason University – The Stories of Carlotta and SG
At George Mason University, the Authentic Yoga classes led by Adhiyogi became a cornerstone of physical and mental well-being for many students. Among those deeply impacted were Carlotta and SG, both of whom shared how the practice enhanced their lives.
Carlotta described each session as a revitalizing experience, bringing energy and calmness. Her flexibility improved, and she found herself more attuned to both mind and body. She noted that Adhiyogi’s guidance offered not just physical movement but an inward journey. One highlight for her was finally listening to Adhiyogi’s CD, Relaxation for Meditation using the Authentic Yoga System, which she found "very effective." She even suggested expanding the class to twice a week and hoped for a quieter room away from external noise, like the nearby pool, to deepen the meditative quality of the sessions.
SG, a long-time student of Adhiyogi’s classes, echoed the value of consistent and individualized instruction. For nearly three years, she remained devoted to the Authentic Yoga program, finding it adaptable to personal needs and highly impactful. SG credited Adhiyogi for getting her “hooked on yoga” and, like Carlotta, wished the classes could be held more frequently. Together, these two stories reflect the depth and transformation that students experienced under
