Zac’s Transformation
In the quiet corridors of Fairfax, Virginia, where the echoes of thought often outlast words, a young philosophy major and management graduate named Zac found more than intellectual inquiry. He found a teacher — and through him, a new way of living.
It was not in a lecture hall that Zac first encountered transformation, but in the still presence of Adhiyogi, a master of Authentic Yoga whose teachings reached far beyond technique. In Neel’s classes, yoga wasn't about form or fitness — it was about truth, discipline, and the breath that binds awareness to being.
Zac was drawn in. Not just by the physical precision or the philosophical depth, but by something deeper: the generosity of presence that Adhiyogi gave freely to every student. It was a mentorship built not on hierarchy, but on mutual respect and sincere inquiry.
Before Zac left for Vietnam, he wrote to Neel:“Thank you so much for everything you have done to help me and teach me on this trip. I am very lucky to be able to learn from you. I am amazed by your knowledge and generosity.”
After ten years in Vietnam, Zac wrote to Neel the following: “From Vietnam: I hope your yoga school is doing well. I continue to experience the benefits of my previous yoga and meditation practice with you daily, even though it has been nearly 10 years!”
Ten years. Thousands of miles. And still, the teachings endured. This is not a story about a class. It’s the story of a seed planted in stillness, nourished by sincerity, and flowering across oceans. A reminder that when teachings are true, and the teacher is authentic, time and distance only deepen their roots. And perhaps, somewhere in Vietnam, a quiet breath taken with awareness still carries the echo of Fairfax and the enduring presence of Adhiyoga.
OM Shantiḥ.
