Patanjali Yoga Sutra 3.35: Sattvapuruṣayoratyantāsaṅkīrṇayoḥ pratyayāviśeṣo bhogaḥ parārthatvātsvārthasaṁyamātpuruṣajñānam|
Bhoga is an experience which does not distinguish Citta (which is full of Sattva) from purūṣa (Self), though they are totally different from each other. Even though Bhoga belongs to Citta, it is meant for someone else. On the other hand svārtha (self-interest) is reflection of purusha in Mahat with absence of ahaṁkāra (asmitā, whicht evolves into Body-Mind complex). On saṁyama on the svārtha, a yogi obtains knowledge about purūṣa (Self).
