Chapter 2

Is the IRS the Bad Guy?

“The Bryson Law Firm is very knowledgeable in knowing tax laws and how they are applied. They were quick in
their response when the IRS seized my bank account…they took care of it within hours! You can depend on them
to give their best effort. You saved me money on my taxes and gave me peace of mind. Please continue your caring
ways and friendly, family atmosphere. Thank you so much for your help!”
                                                                                    Testimonial from client, Austin S.

The IRS has the responsibility of collecting money for the government. They will do this through any

means available. If you haven’t been able to pay your taxes or reach an agreement for the balance due
on your taxes, the IRS will then move forward to seize assets, usually starting by taking the money from
your bank account and garnishing your paycheck, and it will only escalate from there.

Unfortunately, the IRS is not given the authority to offer you settlements directly even when you

qualify. The responsibility is on the taxpayer to file for a settlement or some other type of agreement to
        resolve the taxes you owe.

The taxpayer is also responsible for knowing how to file all of the appeals, when necessary, to ensure the
case continues to move forward to reach an agreement they can afford.
