A little while later, Carl woke to the sound of seagulls calling in the distance. It was very quiet.

The relaxing wave continued to roll onto the sandy shore below. Carl yawned a big yawn.

And as he yawned his big yawn, Carl felt as though he was being watched. Carl squinted, and

with one eye half-closed, he glanced to the side.

Yup, sure enough, he was being watched, alright! While Carl slept, a giant python had slithered

up the pole and was now sunning his beautiful tan and green skin.

He was on the pole right next to Carl.
