The sloth had scarcely been gone when a young Jaguar named Tessa came

swimming out of the ocean. She strolled over to the pole and climbed up.

Looking at Carl, the Jaguar said, “Do you mind if I lay out here for a bit to dry off?”

“No, not at all!” said Carl, “Please stay as long as you like.”

“Thanks,” said the Jaguar. “That’s very kind of you.”

“You are welcome,” said Carl, “You are wet, that’s for sure.”

“My name is Tessa Jaguar, but everyone calls me Tess.”

“I’m Carl Pineapple, and everyone calls me Carl.”

“Nice to meet you, Carl!” Tess replied.

“I thought jaguars liked swimming in the fresh waters of the jungle,” Carl replied.

“And I thought pineapples live in the jungle and not on telephone wires,”

                                                    Tess retorted smiling.
