VIRTUAL CELEBRATION: LUMIERE AND FAREWELL

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) Current pandemic situation did not fade the enthusiasm of students and staff. The formal
function of Lumiere was celebrated online and was marked by presence of students, alumni and staff members in large number.
The most awaited and proud moment to launch the annual magazine of METIOP degree "NEST" 2020-21 was celebrated at noon
th
of 9 April 2021.
The theme for the same being - 'THE NEW NORMAL'. Lumiere 2021 began by seeking the blessings of Goddess ' Sarawati' and a
digital lamp lighting ceremony. Our honorable Trustee, Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal addressed the audience and appreciated students and
faculty members for their grueling efforts.
This was followed by the digital inauguration of the magazine. The magazine theme and experiences during "making of Nest" was
then explained by the editors - Ms. Aqsa Khan (T.Y.B.Pharm.), Ms. Vidushi Dhakad (S.Y.B.Pharm), Ms.Sachi Parab (S.Y.B.Pharm),
and Ms. Siddhi Jain (S.Y.B.Pharm).
The Cultural In charges: Dr. Sonali Naik and Mrs. Bhagyashri Joshi gave a presentation wherein the academic toppers of the year
2019-20 and the winners of many Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities held in 2020-21 were acclaimed. Through their
presentation, they also did a recap of various co-curricular and extra-curricular events conducted during the year and acknowledged
the contributors for making all events a grand success. This was followed by articulate speeches by Respected Director, Dr. U. B.
Hadkar. Respected Principal, Dr. Abha Doshi (IOP degree) Respected Principal Dr. S. D. Bhosle (IOP diploma) and Course Co-
ordinator, Dr. Rashmi Srivastava. This was followed by speech of the General Secretaries of the student council - Mr. Gaurav
Rajpurohit (T.Y.B.Pharm) and Ms. Rajvi Shah (T.Y.B.Pharm) highlighting their journey as GS. The audience was then addressed by
the Cultural Secretaries - Ms. Shruti Kotian (S.Y.B.Pharm) and Ms. Mehreen Patel (S. Y. B. Pharm). They enlisted a few of the
council's accomplishments and gave vote of thanks. Following this, the audience was mesmerized by the words of wisdom shared
by Mr. Ashish Srivastava from the Marcom department.
The event was hosted by Mr. Aditya Daware and Ms. Mehak Makhija. Farewell for the passing batch of 2017-2021 was organized
virtually on 24th April 2021. The final years were addressed by the director Dr. U. B. Hadkar, the Principal Dr. Abha Doshi and
Course Co-ordinator Dr. Rashmi Srivastava. Speeches were given by students. Fun Games were organized for the students which
were Guess the Movie Dialogue, Guess the song /movie from emoji , Identify the Reels and a few riddles were also there. The
highlights of the event however, were the banter exchanged between Final year Students and the Faculty members and the
wonderful AV prepared by Final Year Student Mr.Himanshu Jarkad that beautifully captured all the memories of the batch over the
course of the 4 years they spent together. Overall it was a beautiful Virtual Farewell filled with bittersweet moments. We wish Final
years all the success and Happiness in the future endeavors.
