                      E-CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR D. PHARMACY STUDENTS

       Konkan Gyanpeeth Rahul Dharkar College
       of Pharmacy and Research Institute Karjat
       organized an online webinar on the “Career
       Development Program” for D. Pharm. This
       was   the   institute’s  114th  webinar
       coordinated by Dr Vaishali Jadhav HOD and
       was hosted by Ms Neha Raghuwanshi. The
       objectives of the program were to make the
       students aware of various career prospects,
       competitive exams, various documents and
       license registration required to start a
       pharmacy   store  including  rules  and
       regulations about the same.






                                               Dr. Mohan Kale, Principal of KGRDCP warmly welcomed all viewers and resource
                                               persons and addressed the webinar, its objectives and outcomes. Mr. Sheetal V.
                                               Chandan, Sr. Pharmacy Officer, Pharmacy Department, KEM Hospital, Mumbai
                                               delivered his talk on “Career in Hospital Pharmacy and Community Pharmacy”. He
                  Mr. Sheetal V. Chandan       started his talk with the basic on Pharmacy, the key role that a pharmacist plays in
                                               improving the health of the nation, patient’s safety and gave detailed information on
                                               various competitive exams after D. Pharmacy. He concluded with a message to the
                                               students “Pharmacist is the Backbone of the healthcare system, as they always
                                               work for patients for the healthy nation” The second speaker Ms Jyoti Lahane,
                                               Assistant Professor, KGRDCP&RI, Karjat briefed the students on “How to open a
                                               Pharmacy Store in India”. She gave a piece of in-depth information starting with the
                                               qualifications, the capital investment needed to start a pharmacy thereby explaining
                                               the documentation required. She guided the students with types of medical shops

                                               which one can start like Hospital medical, Standalone medical, Chain/Franchise
                                               outlet -Apollo, Med plus, township further elaborating on fees to be paid to obtain the
                                               License - Pharmacy Registration and land registration. The third speaker Mr.
                                               Shashank Mhatre, Director, Shreeyash Medical and General Stores, Pen, Raigad
                                               gave an elaborated talk on “How to run Pharmacy Store Successfully” by focusing
                                               on challenges faced at the initial stage of any Pharma business and ways to
                                               overcome these challenges. He inspired students by giving the various example of
                                               being successful in the Pharma business. He guided students on how they can gain
                    Dr. Mohan Kale             in-depth knowledge about medication and prescription during their training in a
                                               pharmacy by maintaining the records. The last speaker Dr. Mohan Kale, Principal
                                               KGRDCP shared his thoughts on “Career Prospects for D. Pharm Students” Sir
                                               started by explaining about pharmacy and how can one make a career in various
                                               prospects other than just opening a medical store. He concluded by giving a
                                               message to all students how Passion interest, dedication, planning, implementation,
                                               hard work and skill development can lead to being a successful career. A total of
                                               200 participants attended the webinar. Participants were benefitted from certificates
                                               that were distributed through online mode. The Program concluded with a vote of
                                               thanks given by Dr. Vaishali Jadhav she thanked the speaker, participants. Mr. Ajay

                                               Kharche and Mr. Hemant Dhakane actively handled the technical department for
                                               smooth conduction and telecasting of sessions.
