Certificate Program

This three-day series will empower school leaders,
counselors, and educators to understand legal
requirements related to addressing the student code
of conduct, provide a deep understanding of the
latest state and federal guidance regarding student
discipline, and provide a framework for conducting
effective code of conduct investigations.
Day 1: Legal Requirements and Emerging Issues Related to the Code of Student Conduct -

Day 2: Understanding State and Federal Guidance on Student Discipline -
Feb. 12, 2020; 9 am - 3 pm at FEA
Day 3: Code of Conduct Investigations: Getting to the Truth -

Litigation Certificate Program

Litigation is a constant threat in the area of special
education. In New Jersey, the challenge is even
greater because the burden of proof is always on
the school district, unlike any other area of the law.
This series will empower participants to understand
how to reduce the need for litigation, prepare for
mediation and due process, and be in the best
possible position to prevail when litigation occurs, under IDEA or Section 504.
