About the Authors
Dr. Reginald Davenport is an educator with 21 years of middle school experience. He has served as a
Social Studies teacher, assistant principal and principal in both urban and suburban schools. Dr. Davenport
holds a BA in History from Jersey City State College (‘95), an MA in Educational Leadership from Seton
Hall University (’02), and completed his Ed.D. in Educational and Organizational Leadership at the
University of Pennsylvania (’09). Dr. Davenport also serves on the Board of Trustees for AMLE and as
president of the state affiliate NJAMLE.
Melinda Rosso has 8 years of experience in teaching. She began her career as a 5th grade French
teacher and has taught French at Franklin Middle School for the past 7 years. She earned her B.A. in
French Language and Literature and Secondary Education from Washington College in Chestertown,
MD, and her M.Ed in Educational Leadership from The Graduate School of Education at Rutgers
University in May 2016.
