Emerging Technologies
In 2016, Carlee Walker explained in her YouTube video the 9 Useful Apps for educators. She describes how
these nine mobile apps can help teachers to engage students in the class through entertaining fun of learning
using mobile phone technologies. Referring to the SAMR Model by Ruben Puentedura, the techniques used
to integrate into the classroom with four levels of degree started with Substitution, Augmented, Modification
and Redefinition.
The first example of an app that can easily use in class is Notability Application. This application help
students to take note via mobile with the integration of Google account. Moreover, this note-taking app also
has a feature that enables students to take note in handwriting mode. The limitation of this app is that it is
only available for IOS user, and the user needs to pay for the app.
Various technologies have been developed since the last five years back that is still available to support the
classroom nowadays. Below is among the app that used to foster teaching and learning experience:
