I'm playing tennis tomorrow.
They are playing tennis (now). 日e is playing tennis tomorrow.
We use am/is/are 十 -ing (present continuous) for something happening now:
0 'Where are Tina and 日 elen?' 'They're playing tennis in the park.
0 Please be quiet. I'm working.
We also use am/is/are + -ing for thefuture (tomorrow / next week etc.):
0 Andrew is playing tennis tomorrow.
0 I'm not working next week.
I am doing something tomorrow = I h ave arranged to do it, I have a plan to do it:
0 Sophie i
ophie is going to the d en ti st o n Fri day.
I'm going to a
(= she has an appointment with the dentist)
concert tomorrow.
0 We're having a party next weekend.
0 Are you meeting your friends tonight?
0 What are you doing tomorrow evening?
0 I'm not going out tonight. I'm staying at home.
You can also say 'I'm going to do something1 (➔ Unit 26).
We use the present continuous (I'm staying / are you coming etc.) to say what somebody has arranged
to do:
0 I' m staying at home this evening. (not I stay)
。 Are you going out tonight? (not Do you go)

0 Lisa isn' isn't coming to the party next week. (not Lisa doesn't come)
But we use the present simple (start, arrives etc.) for timetables, programmes, trains, buses etc. :

0 What time does the film finish?
Compare:
present continuous (usually for people) present simple (for timetables, programmes etc.)
0 I'm going to a concert tomorrow. 。 The concert starts at 7.30.
