Town of Festivals
Hailed the ‘Town of Festivals’ where else would you find events celebrating town criers, motorsport, jazz and scarecrows. Highlights include Nozstock a boutique festival billed as the Glastonbury of Herefordshire. Bromyard Speed Festival celebrates motoring history and attracts over 5000 people each year. The 44 year old Bromyard Gala; a showcase of vintage and classic cars, steam engines, crafts and country life, is one of the most popular events of the year.
Back in Time
The Bromyard & District Local History Society is open three days a week containing a large archive, library and exhibition room. For lovers of sci-fi the
very quirky Time Machine Museum of Science Fiction houses the finest collection of Television Science Fiction props and costume memorabilia; Think Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. Their collection of antique teddy bears and dolls is one of the finest in the world.
Up on the Downs
Rising to over 700 feet, the Bromyard Downs form an impressive backdrop to the market town. With spectacular views, they are a peaceful haven with a diverse range of wildlife. Bringsty Common with its lakes, streams and valleys, thick with bluebells in the spring, is a much loved location. Both are AONBs covering 500 acres and are perfect for walking and horse-riding.
