The historic market town of Kington and the ancient neighbouring region of Mortimer Country lie close to the border of Wales and date back over 1000 years. Situated alongside the Marcher Lord’s route of Offa’s Dyke and Hergest Ridge, they encompass the most beautiful countryside, outstanding views and deep history.

is renowned for its Walking Festival in the autumn, with a choice of over 40 walks with talks and entertainment. The Offa's Dyke Path National Trail, The Herefordshire Trail, Mortimer Trail and the Wyche Way all pass through the town. Overlooking the town and the tranquil Brecon Beacons is Kington Golf Club the highest 18 hole course in England. Kington’s central clock tower and market hall, built to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden
Jubilee in 1887, hosts weekly food and crafts markets. The quaint High Street with its quirky shops, cafés, restaurants and delicatessens will transport you back to a bygone time.
The summer and winter annual food and drink festivals in June and December host over 90 stalls, and Kington Horse and Agricultural Show is one of the largest shows in the UK every September, retaining its strong countryside and community roots.
