Introducing Brecon Under 16 starlet
and Wales U16 international Cally James...
BRECON RFC
CALLY JAMES WINS HIS SECOND AGE GROUP CAP
Brecon under 16 player Cally James earned his second Welsh Age Group cap when he was selected to play for Wales against England in the Under 16 International at Ystrad Mynach on Sunday 17th April.
Cally had previously been capped when he represented East Wales under 11s in the annual xture against West Wales. In that match he produced a man of the match performance, the rst Brecon player ever to receive such an accolade at this Level.
Cally started playing rugby at an early age at Llanfaes Primary School and with Brecon RFC under 8’s. From that early age he always showed great potential, possessing an imposing physical presence on the eld allied with great rugby footballing skills.
That talent was recognised with his selection for East Wales and his progress has been monitored since. Last year, as an Under 15, he was selected for the Blues Under 16 Regional team and this year captained the side. His selection for the Welsh team that recorded a notable victory over the “Old Enemy” was fully deserved.
In spite of commitments to the Blues and the Welsh squad Cally has remained loyal to his home Club, Brecon. The day before his full Welsh debut he was supporting Brecon youth team at their Cup winning match against local rivals Builth Wells. The whole of Brecon RFC and Brecon High School together with the community in general congratulate him on his outstanding achievement and hope that this is just a step on the ladder towards even higher achievements in the future.
