Seafood Cottage® is an environmentally friendly cottage industry situated at the heart of Grimsby in Lincolnshire.
How did you get started?
I took the opportunity to turn redundancy into revival, by returning to the fishing industry that I love, to design and produce a new seafood product. I wanted one with a sustainable and affordable high fish content, naturally rich in omega 3 and free from bones, breadcrumbs and polyphosphates. The resulting product is Kippolata® - wholesome sausages and burgers made with fish instead of meat! It’s wonderful that children who wouldn’t eat fish will happily devour a Kippolata burger in a bun with salad and sauce. I was also delighted to learn that on the Slimming World Extra Easy plan, a Kippolata burger is only half a Syn and a Kippolata sausage is Syn free.
Any future plans?
It’s my heart's desire is to make Kippolata available for everyone to enjoy throughout the length and breadth of the UK and beyond.
What would a typical day be?
From Tuesday to Saturday each week, our Kippolata retail counter is open from 10:30 to 13:30. Outside of these hours, I'm usually busy preparing the fish fillets with our unique blend of herbs, spices and other wholefood ingredients to produce several varieties of Kippolata. The current

Fish Friday It’s not too late!
