LESS STRESS: MORE YES
Billie started small. She began with 10-minute
walks during her lunch break. She discovered a park
near work with a walking trail. The fresh air and the
change of scenery were a welcome break from the
office.
She tried a Tango class. It was intimidating at first,
but she soon found herself laughing, moving, and
enjoying the music. She realized that exercise didn't
have to be a chore; it could be fun.
She incorporated micro-movements into her
workday. She took the stairs instead of the elevator.
She stood up and stretched every hour. She even
started pacing during phone calls.
She invited a friend to join her for a weekend hike.
They talked, laughed, and enjoyed the beautiful
scenery. The social aspect made the movement even
more enjoyable.
She spent more time outdoors. She went for walks
in the park, even on rainy days. She discovered that
being in nature had a calming and restorative effect on
her mind and body.
Slowly, gradually, something amazing happened.
Her energy levels increased. She felt more vibrant
and less sluggish.
