other appointment.
• The App Audit: Review the apps on your
phone and delete the ones that are time-
wasters or that trigger negative emotions. Be
ruthless.
• The Phone-Free Zones: Designate certain
areas and times as phone-free zones. The
bedroom. The dinner table. Family time.
• The Digital Sabbath: Take a complete break
from technology for one day each week. A 24-
hour period of unplugging and reconnecting
with the real world.
It wasn't about abandoning technology altogether.
It was about creating boundaries, developing healthy
habits, and regaining control of her attention.
Billie started small. She extended her digital
sunset. It was difficult at first. The urge to check her
phone before bed was strong. But she replaced it with
reading a physical book, taking a warm bath, and
practicing a short meditation..
