Y’ALL KNOW THE DRILL…Please join us in
saying “aaah!” to Michael and Kayleen Lewis of
Mesa Hills West.
Michael began his practice as an oral and
maxillofacial surgeon in Salinas and Monterey
in 1987. He retires this month. “I am so very grateful for
the profession I chose; I’ve loved being an oral surgeon. My
staff and my patients have been incredible, and I’ve gotten
to meet some of the most interesting people!” Michael
enthuses. He recently transitioned to honorary staff status at
Community Hospital.
Kayleen is a retired high school science teacher. “I loved
teaching, and I miss being with students every day. I’m grateful
to stay in touch with many of them through social media. It’s
been wonderful watching them make their way in the world!”
“We met through mutual friends when I was a student
at San Francisco State University and Michael was in dental
school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco,”
Kayleen explains. “Michael was born and raised in Burbank.
I was born in Hawaii, before it was a State! My father was a
Naval Officer, so we lived between Honolulu and Vallejo until
he retired. My parents settled our family in Orange County.
Michael and I considered moving there but the opportunity to
join a practice in Monterey came up!”
The couple are proud parents, in-laws and grandparents
to Alexander (Jillian, and their 3 sons) of Washington D.C., and
Aaron (Annie, and their one year old son) of Hermosa Beach.
They raised the boys in the Greet community having lived in
their home since 1991.
