COSMETOLOGY STUDENT SELECTED FOR NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM
Miss Genesis Brown, Cosmetology 1 student, was selected to
attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF):
National Security-Diplomacy, Intelligence & Defense, an
Envision program to be held at the University of Maryland in
the Washington, DC metropolitan area this summer, 2020.
Genesis selection is based on her strong academic
performance at Lee County Career and Technology Center.
Among the numerous benefits of attending NYLF National
Security is the experience of discovering how to enhance the
essential leadership skills that she already possesses and,
more importantly, learning how to apply those skills
immediately upon her return home.

L'Shaun has not only learned to
crochet, but she has also learned to
crochet in the round. This
technique is called amigurumi.
Amigurumi is a skill that uses
precise counts of crochet stitches.
The use of a series of increasing and
decreasing stitches can create any
object you can imagine. The best
examples I can give you are 3-D
printing using yarn and a pattern,
and the 01 sequencings in
computer programming. In the right
sequence, anything can be created
with yarn. L'Shaun has created a
doll from the Ava doll pattern.
