o He was forced to see the sword
pierced His mother’s heart.
o He endured the cross and despised the
shame.
o He went lower and lower in His
humiliation until there were no lower
depths that He could reach in order to
lift us up from our moral defilement.
Child of God, you are admonished to “spend a
thoughtful hour every day in contemplation
of the life of Christ, especially the closing
scenes” {4T 374.1}. Christ says to you, “I, if I
be lifted up, will draw all unto Me.” {John
12:32}. He also says, “If any man will come
after me, let him deny himself, and take up
his cross daily, and follow me” Luke 9:23.
