“For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not
of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah
29:11, KJV).
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares
the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to
harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
(Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).
Reflections:
While God’s hatred of sin is as strong as death,
His love for you, the sinner, is stronger than
death. Having undertaken your redemption,
He spares nothing, however dear, which is
necessary to the completion of His work in
you. No truth essential to your salvation is
withheld, no miracle of mercy is neglected, no
divine agency is left unemployed. Favor is
heaped upon favor, and gift upon gift. The
