12. “As the blood sprinkled on the doorposts

had saved the first-born of Israel, so the

blood of Christ has power to save the

world.”

13. Reasons the priest did not recognize

Jesus:

i. The presentation of infants was a

common scene.

ii. On a daily basis, redemption money

was received for the babes as they

were presented to the Lord.

iii. The priest was just going through

his daily routine giving little heed

to the parents or children, unless he

saw some indication of wealth or

high rank of the parents, and

Joseph and Mary were poor, there

was nothing in their appearance to

attract attention, and they

presented only the offering made

by the poorer classes.
