He endured the cross and despised
the shame.
He went lower and lower in His
humiliation until there were no
lower depths that He could reach in
order to lift us up from our moral
defilement.
Christ took upon Himself the condemnation
for sin. He opened His bosom to the woes of
man. “The LORD [God the Father] hath laid
on Him [Christ the Son] the iniquity of us all”
“He hath made Him to be sin for us, who
knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in Him” (Isaiah 53:6;
2 Corinthians 5:21).
