things of the Spirit brings life and peace. The

sinful mind of man is against God and refuses

to submit to His law. Indeed, it never can.

8 Therefore, those who are controlled by their

sinful natures cannot please God. But you

are no longer controlled by your sinful selves

but by the Holy Spirit. If anyone does not

have the Holy Spirit guiding his life, he

doesn’t really belong to Christ. 10 If Christ

through His Spirit is in you, even though,

your bodies are aging and will one day die

because of sin, the Spirit within you brings

life because of the righteousness of Christ

which God has already given us. If the Spirit

of God who raised Jesus Christ from the dead

dwells in you, then He who raised Christ from

the dead will also raise you from the dead

through the same Holy Spirit, who’s already

in you. 49

Children of God Through the Holy Spirit

12 Therefore, my brothers, we are not under

obligation to our sinful human nature, to do

what it tells us to do. If you do, you will die.
