rod of iron. “I have set My King upon My holy
hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord
hath said unto Me, Thou art My Son; this day
have I begotten Thee. Ask of Me, and I shall
give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance
and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy
possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod
of iron.”
The Saviour lived among men for thirty-three
years, an example in childhood, youth, and
manhood, of the possibilities of a life with God.
He was crucified, yet He triumphed over
death. Satan thought that he held Christ
securely, but the moment of exultation was a
signal for his eternal defeat. Even then, a shout
rang through heaven as the victory over death
