CHAPTER 10 - GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT - GRANDDAUGHTERS AND MY SPORTING PHILOSOPHY
Danielle and Tiger Lilly and Talulah
Danielle Paul and Debbie’s eldest , unlike most of the Daly’s, has not been all that keen on sport other than initially ballet and then ballroom dancing. It was in ballroom dancing that she had major success winning an Australian Title and many other Titles around Australia.
You probably know that I have two left feet but I never missed any of her dancing. I have been to every State, have always sat in the front row by myself, , looking for footwork and stamina. I have seen so many people doing Latin dance who just do not have the stamina to last and consequently fail in their quest. I am only joking, but I did try to bribe the adjudicators because I disliked the idea of the subjective measurement used by those who judge dancing. I also worried about the independence in that many of the judges were associated with the dancing studios and on odd occasions would have been judging their pupils against other pupils from competitive studios.
Even today and while no-one in the family is competitively dancing, I still take a box at the Australian Dancesport Championships. I find it very interesting having seen some of them from a young age and then developing into what they are now, competing in the professional art of dancing. Danielle and her husband Tony have two daughters named Tiger Lilly and Talulah Polly Alice. Tiger Lily is presently just under three and she is already at a ballet school. I couldn’t help going to watch her when they visited Melbourne recently and I do believe that she has talent. We will now have to see how she develops and whether, like her mother, she moves across to ballroom dancing. I think if she did, I can imagine Danielle coming back as a dancing instructor. There is Talulah who was born on 31 May 2018 so we may have another dancer.
