Clearly understand the problem and define what success and
failure look like.

Identify what right looks like ask your team “Has this been
done before”. Follow up with “Let’s not recreate the wheel

let's see what has worked”. Do an after-action review before
starting a new project. We like to call them post-mortems. Tell
your team “We failed and have them come up with reasons
why the team failed”. Being a consultant is difficult but with
