X. Saeid Jalilvand – City Surveyors are trying to increase their
membership. Some members are retiring.
XI. Bob Marvin – Northern attended the Thursday night 2nd Showing
of the NYSAPLS FEMA webinar with 10-12 members. Bob spoke
about Northern’s Arbitration Committee and that they will be getting
involved with their first case soon. Barb Marvin spoke about the C.C.
Fee and the F. Ives Turner scholarships that Northern administers,
and about Paul Smith’s College former involvement. Northern is in
the process of reinvesting the funds with the Adirondack Foundation.
The Lake Placid Rotary International (a 501.c.3.) would be the pass
through organization.
XII. Executive Vice President Jeremy Thompson thanked everyone for
their professionalism in dealing with the sometime difficult topics
we face.
• President Garfinkel asked that we revisit the matter discussed during
the Presidents report about donating to Tom Garber’s production of the
film “Engineering the Erie Canal”. A motion was made by Steve Willard
to have NYSAPLS match regional donations up to a total of $5,000. A
lengthy discussion ensued. It was decided that the Directors go back to
their regionals and discuss the amounts that they want to donate and
come back to the May BoD with that information.
Without objection, the meeting was adjourned at 10:39 p.m..
Respectfully submitted:
