• Heather plugged the upcoming Diversity Panel Discussion being hosted
by the Young Professionals and the Virtual Social Hour being held during
Conference (Thursday night 1/20/2022 at 6:00)

New Business
• Town of Canandaigua matter – President Garfinkel – This issue stems
from the town building inspector/code enforcement officer’s rejection of a
land surveyor’s submission of a drawing (“plot plan”) showing a proposed
structure. A lengthy discussion ensued. President Garfinkel will continue to
collect information and provide an update at next BOD meeting.
• DOT Regional Right of Way Mapping Units’ recent responses to requests
for copies of appropriation maps – Concerns were raised about some
DOT Regional offices recently balking at requests from surveyors for
appropriation maps. A lengthy discussion ensued. The Board is looking
forward to NYSAPLS Member Brian Magee’s (NYS DOT Region 1 Surveyor)
presentation at Conference, before taking further action on this matter.
