6 BAYSWATER NEWS, WINTER 2021
Meet Gae Frecklington
Gae was born on the 12th June 1942 to loving
parents Lorraine and Ted in Wellington a country
town by the Macquarie and Bell rivers, in the Great
Western Plains region of NSW. Wellington is known
for its famous caves, colonial heritage, tranquil
gardens and a beautiful lake.
Gae had one sibling a brother Murray. Gae was very
close to her mother and had great respect for her
father a Grazier and Property Developer. At the
tender age of eight Gae’s family moved from country
NSW to the outback town of Roma in Queensland
where her great love of the outdoors and horses were
born and remained with her right up until her move
to Bayswater Gardens in May 2018.
Living in country Queensland meant that Gae had to
travel to school, first to St Hillier’s and later to Board
at Frensham in Mittagong NSW and went onto to be a
successful Kitchen Designer and Property Developer.
Gae raised her two sons Julian and Adrian on her own
and is very proud of both of her boys and she is also
an extremely proud grandmother to three young
boys.
While living in Sydney Gae resided on a beautiful
waterfront property at Castlecrag with breath taking
views, and when she retired she did it in style on a
100 acre property on the South Coast at Meroo with
stunning views over the Shoal Haven River and Pacific
Ocean. It was beautiful, quiet and tranquil home that
Gae created and a home that she shared with her
horse and Siamese cat whom she misses terribly.
Over the years Gae has worked hard and been very
fortunate to have travelled the world. She has been
to Europe, USA, South America, England, Africa,
China, Korea, Turkey, Morocco, New Zealand, Canada
and India and enjoyed each and every trip she took.
She loved experiencing the different cultures,
cuisines, history and architecture of all these places.
