Welcome

Dear Residents, Relatives and Friends,
The refurbishment at Manns Avenue is now complete! It’s been a
hectic ten weeks but I think everyone will agree that the upgrade
has been a wonderful improvement to resident’s suites and the
lounge and dining areas. I’d like to say a big thank you to all
residents and relatives for being so accommodating with the
changes. A huge congratulations to our own Catherine Doyle for Mitch, Shirley, Shirley, Margarett, Shirley and Pixie on
being the National winner of the Hospitality & Lifestyle Aged
the Blue Mountains Trip
Care Awards 2018 in the category of Lifestyle Individual
Award. The SoupedUp Hospitality & Lifestyle Awards recognises
and rewards outstanding team members, initiatives and facilities
for providing quality and superior catering, cleaning, laundry and
lifestyle services within aged care facilities across
Australia. Ashley Thomson our Group Executive Chef was also a
finalist in the 2018 Hospitality Manager category. Great work and
thank you to you both!
With the summer months finally arriving we will be keeping a
close eye on all residents to ensure appropriate hydration. The
elderly can have a decreased sense of thirst, so we all need to
Jackie Goss and Debbie with Rapha and Darcy at the
encourage drinking water on the particularly warm Pets on the Lawn
days. Watermelons and other fruit and vegetables are also a
good source of hydration for us all to eat throughout summer.
I do hope you will be able to join us for some of the wonderful
festivities we have planned over summer. We have Christmas
lights tours, carols with champagne and mince pies, services,
singing groups and even Zorba’s Greek Christmas Extravaganza to
help us all celebrate the festive season. From everyone at
Lansdowne Gardens, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a
happy and safe new year.
Kind regards,
Residents at the Tramway Museum Excursion
