SUMMER 2021
LANSDOWNE NEWS
Welcome
By Melissa Iredell
What a pleasure it is to be at Lansdowne Gardens, such
a beautiful residence. The residents here have been Sisters Ros and Margot spending time in the
very warm and gracious toward me. It is always good garden together
fun getting to know them, exchanging small
observations. The New Standards in Aged Care are such
a positive move forward. The focus is on residents’
individual wellbeing which can be a challenge in
communal living, where their individual choices
sometimes bump into each other but it is the right
move and I feel we will see greater communal spirit
because of this. In keeping with the New Standards, we
are keeping the door to our Camellia Memory Support
Area open. Some of our residents have made new
friends in the process. What’s more, we will be asking
our residents to assist in interviews of potential staff. Philip on a bus outing
This can glean invaluable insight into how the
applicants interact with residents and vice versa. In
keeping with the spirit of residents having greater
control and choice a new Residents Committee will be
encouraged. Its purpose to suggest improvements to
the services and environment at Lansdowne Gardens.
The core team here is solid and committed and have
been very supportive with the transition to a new
Director of Care Services and I am grateful to them.
Wishing you all a Joyous Christmas with great
memories for you and your families.
